In my opinion I would get rid of JD. Get a 125G Definitely work on making some territories. That way you can add other fish. Also, how dark is the convicts face? I read that the blacker the more dominant, and so far I've found that to be very true.

Dang! I read this too late! I took the female out and moved her into another tank along with about 15 of her fry. I left about 15 with the male convict, and moved another 15 or so into a net breeder. So here is an update. Yesterday I took out the female convict. She is just causing too much...

Yea definitely cycle before adding fish. Your fish were jumping out of the water from the ammonia in the water (burning them) Don't use test strips! Get the API Freshwater master kit! it costs a bit, but you actually save money (vs test strips). Do you have filter?

Does the water you drink have "bad stuff" in it? o.O after the chlorine is gone it should be ok. If there are harmful microorganisms living in your drinking water then your water supplier isn't doing it's job

I would do about 60% now and then 50% within the next twelve hours. Do this everyday until the water becomes clear
