    New to SW. New 14g Biocube..

    Use the old ones then. When you get $50 bucks buy a new pair. Swap them, if there is no difference then use the old ones, and save the new ones as spares, cuz eventually you're gonna need them.

    Nothin, they're gonna fluctuate as your tank cycles. Just wait a few weeks till it cycles completely.. Throw a piece of raw shrimp in there.

    Put live rock whenever you want. Sooner the better. Add a little ammonia, to start the cycle. In a few weeks, throw in some fish, coral etc. Also I'd replace the bulbs with new ones.. They are probably really dull..

    T.V or Tank?

    I got my biocube on the kitchen table.. Sounds weird right?? Well I just don't feel like staring at a bowl full of fake fruit.. Plus it's great entertainment during dinner, my kids feed the fish before we eat. Then we get to see all the critters creep out..

    Tarpon, many on here will argue and hate me for this but the answer is no. I added ready mixed water straight from my lfs, cured live rock straight from their tanks, and a bag of live sand. This was a biocube 14.. However thus being said.. It was VERY time consuming.. I did a full water...

    Why doesn't my API test kit have a nitrite test in it?? It has a nitrate test.. My nitrates are at 10 should they be zero?? Makes me wonder about nitrites now...

    How high is the lip of the shelf? I wouldn't go more than 1".. Try to keep the filter upright as possible. Put a wedge between the filter and tank at the bottom of filter.. Should work..

    So I rearranged my rockscape, added about 3 more lbs of live rock.. Getting ready for my new fish and gonna start my sps skills.. (Good luck.). Getting 2 snowflake clowns..yeah.. Starting with a birdsnest I think.. Any opinions on beginner sps??

    U need a low pressure check valve.. I've seen them before, basically the something without a spring. Never used one though because I wouldn't trust it..
