I have read that it will eat/kill inverts, guess that is not true?

I was thinking of buying a blue starfish for my reef tank...45 gal hex, 35lbs. of live figi, 2 featherdusters, hermits, snails, yellow eye tang, blood shrimp, flaming scallop, some soft coral, and a xenia. Will the blue starfish get along with everything in my tank???

I've got green, rust color(brown), algae (I suppose) starting to over take my tank(my argonite ,and live rock). What spicies do I use to get rid of this. I've got a 45 hex, 170 penguin filter,powerhead, argonite sand, 23 lbs of figi rock(cured), heater, pink tip ananome, 1 peppermint shrimp...

I put ph buffer to raise the ph to appropriate levels , water conditioner, and no supplaments, and what do I use (fish,snail, ect.) for algae on on rock.

My Nitrite levels are rising. I am at about 0.25 - 0.50. I am quite new to the saltwater thing, does anyone have any suggestions to help??? All my other tests were good except for Nitrites/amonia. Thanks
