Oscars..... And koi...... I think my brain just broke trying to figure out how that works.

It has not always been like this. It happened at some point, but hasn't really gotten worse at all. Its also hasn't gotten any better. I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do.

My oranda seems like he may have a broken tail. I'm not sure if that's even possible, but a lot of the time, it just seems to hang limp behind him. Any ideas? He seems to have some trouble swimming and my moor has been picking on him a bit. Thanks guys!

I had mystery snails with my Goldies and it works out well, as long as the snails are large. In terms of clean up though, mystery snails poop A LOT. I wouldn't say that they cleaned the tank at all, but they're sure cute to look at!

So today I picked up my black moor that has been in my mothers care for over a year. The last I saw him, he was only about an inch and a half. Today, he's 5-6 inches! He's huge! Anyway, he seems to have quite odd looking gills. They almost look floppy or flowing like fins. I've never seen this...

Oh goodness yes. I recently moved and the only outlet was across the door jam in the other room. I had the brilliant idea of running the extension cord under the carpet. Took 20 minutes and lo and behold.... It was the wrong way and completely useless. I'm not going to lie... I started crying.

I don't like plecos, they're just not for me. What also bugs me is people telling me what kinds I fish I need to get because "there's not enough in there."

It's probably due to the size of the tank. Black moors need 20 gallons. The amount of ammonia from his waste and lack of oxygen in the water are the cause.

IMO, I would go with the 55, purely for more water volume. I think with such a messy fish, they would appreciate more water than more activity, in contrast to say an incredibly active fish with a lower bioload. Hope that helped/made sense!
