It's always been like that and it hasn't worsened at all so I'm guessing it's a deformity or maybe got nipped off by a more aggro fish

    HLLE

Thanks all, I'm gonna test water tonight(API liquid kit) and change water as needed, he's as active as ever and no changes in behavior, maybe I'm just overly cautious but I'd rather be safe than sorry, I don't want it to get sick again and it be my fault

=( we finally got to moving the fish tank to the new place, we had the Oscar in a quarAntine 10 gallon for most of the day(used tank water and 1 filter from 55)and did a 90% water change on the 55 with prime, once it was up to temp(no hot water yet)we transferred him back to 55, he didn't do...

    :( oscars are mean.

Good luck=) oscar's are great fish to have as a pet, it sucks the pet shop gave you that info and you lost some fish, oscars will try to fit anything in their mouths, even if its too big, with my 55 gallon and a single Oscar I have to do 2 50% water changes every week, sometimes 3 to keep the...

    Setting up 110 gallon=)

Thanks rhino=) I made sure I got that diamond thing first, it's gonna make a half ton of water and fish tank a bit more bearable...LOL(although she loves the Oscar). And the Oscar is about 6-7 inches so he's still fairly small.

    Setting up 110 gallon=)

Finally moving to a bigger place and starting my first fishless cycle(eek!) in my 110 gallon. I've read the fishless cycle post about 10 times already=) as far as moving what would be the least stressful for my Oscar? It's only about a 20 minute ride, should I do a massive water change and leave...

    Urgent- Popeye and Tumor

I can only offer basic advice but when my Oscar had popeye I did a 75% water change and within 2-3 hours the popeye went down significantly, but it came back shortly after, I too used melafix and then did another 75% water change after treatment and it worked for me, best of luck, sorry I can't...

    Can oscars bruise?

I have an albino tiger, water is getting changed between 30-50% twice a week and water parameters are fine, he has been jumping during feeding and hitting his head on the lid or the divider in the middle, not all the time though, there is no change in behavior and is still extremely active...

    Oscar

I bought my albino when he was about an inch or 2(2-3 months ago). He was shy the first day or so but warmed up to us and the kids quite quickly, and now hes around 6 inches. He's(along with most oscars) a moody fish, but will gently eat and jump out of the tank for food, he plays dead during...

    Oscar question again, sorry!

I didn't think it was either but high and mighty lfs said it was, like I said it's been the same the whole time I've had him, water has been pretty much perfect since nitrate spike. I added another filter, so it's 750 gph now with 1-2 50% water changes a week, thanks for your input=)

    Oscar question again, sorry!

    Err. Maybe 2 months now

    Oscar question again, sorry!

About 3 months, but it hasn't gotten worse at all

    Oscar question again, sorry!

That's how he was when I bought him. I'm positive, I just thought something else nipped his fin, maybe it got treated before I bought him and it's in the process of healing? He was only about 1-2 inches, and it hasn't gotten worse at all.

    Oscar question again, sorry!

Apparently it's fin rot, I gently netted him today and got most of it off his fin, gotta start melafix again=(

    Oscar question again, sorry!

And his fin was always like that since he was small idk if something took a bite out of him when he was smaller but it's not recent

    Oscar question again, sorry!

That's as good as I can get =)

    Oscar question again, sorry!

He's completely fine, no cloudy eyes, no popeye either side and he's acting normal
  23. Etown612

    Oscar question again, sorry!

Don't know if it's too small if so I'll take one when I get home
  24. Etown612

    Oscar question again, sorry!

So he's an albino Oscar, there are little white(not cloudy) parts on his eye mixed with the orange color. I went to lfs this morning and their entire tank of albinos all had the same, so is it a stupid question to ask if this is normal? He's completely fine and back to his normal self, has no...
