    Whats wrong with my FBN??

thats a bacterial infection in the cut. Lots of water changes and scaleless safe fish medications. Use a fungicide since his immune system is stresed and a bacterial medicine to handle the infection. Do a lot of water changes and good luck.

    Too many bullfrogs!

and they are a dangerous invasive species with a no catch/kill limit here in California. They have few predators and eat native fish, amphibians and turtles. Use them as fish food or bait, don't let them go. Bullfrogs are good to save east of the rockies and good to kill west of the rockies...

    nitrates/ph just won't budge

like I said my nitrates are holding at 30-40 on both of my test kits. the nitrate beads are resin that absobs nitrates as a helper, not to replace water changes. Its helped a little. I'm doing a lot of big water changes right now to little effect. probably the whole tank twice over across the...

    nitrates/ph just won't budge

I have a 26 bowfront tank with a fluval 105. I'm a little over stocked(18 inches of fish. 4" of which is keyholes) so I do weekly water changes all that jazz. So testing my water a week ago I found high nitrate levels and low ph 6.3 or so. Did a big water change that day and the next day, no...

    kribs in a 40g

1 pair, kribs like room and get up to 4 inches long. You can get 2 pairs and let them decide to pair up with whomever they like, but you will need to remove the other pair afterwards or they will attack each other.

apistos usually only have problems with other apistos or similiar conspecifics. You should be fine adding one to your tank.

    I got angelfish babies!

Just want to say it. My angels laid eggs before and I could never get teh babies to go free swimming. This last time I left them with the parents and they got the hatch to go. I siphoned out the babies after 2 days into a 2 gallon tank. After 3 more they got to free swimming a little bit...

    amphibious caterpillar?

if it moves lke a catipillar and doesn't have legs its probably a fly larvae. There are many of flies with aquatic larvae. Keep it away from your fish. Almost everything that looks like what you have there is carnivorous and predatory.

    Switching Canister filters

So my 72 gallon has a Pennplax Cascade filter on it that I got when I picked up the tank used. It does about 285 gallons and hour and is rated to handle up to 100 gallons. I've been going with it since october and its ok, but I think more would be better. I've been looking at the Fluval 406...

    Help identifying

its a butis butis. An awesome fish, often refered to as crazy gobie or dragon gobie since they often swim upside down. They are predatory but get along with similar sized community fish without issues. I had one for awhile, he took guppies and bloodworms with gusto. Won't touch pellets or flake...

Does anyone know what kind of tadpole this is?

looks like a green or bullfrog tadpole. They are about 2-3 inches long as tads. Depending on what part of the country you are in its possible its a leopard if your on the east coast. If your anywhere west of Colorado the odds are its an imported bullfrog.

    Pelvicachromis Sacramenti

I just found a small 2 inch specimen mixed in with the regular Kribs at LFS. Came home to id it from pics and came up with the species name. I added it to my 72 community since my regular Krib is very aggressive to conspecifics. Anyone have any experience or advice on P. Sacramenti? So far he...
