you do not have to have MH lights to keep many Hard Corals and can keep plenty of LPS with PC lights. 3-5 watts per gallon should be fine. more is better For a begginer I wouldnt recommend a 10 gallon for my first SW set up. too much room for error while you are learning. not saying you cant...

you can try the canopy. I will say that the fixture gets hot and is heavy. Also that might look a little strange with the light balanced on a canopy. I am sure you'll find a set up that suits you best. The lights are awesome! Good Luck

you didnt mess up. You can add the shrimp to start the cycle. Just dont add fish for 4-6 weeks in case the LFS water has parasites in it. You'll be fine! Good luck, Great Hobby!

IMO you added too many fish and added them too soon, 2 weeks isnt very long to have a proper cycle and deal with the bio load in the tank. Have you been testing the water? Look out for an ammonia spike that will be dangerous for the fish. Also I'd get rid of the CC and switch to sand...
