I dislike how they handle my fish. Last time I was there I asked for a mystery snail.. She ripped him off the wall of the tank with such a force I thought she was going to throw him across the store :/

After closely watching my fish and asking alot of questions I am 100% sure they have velvet. I have heard that some people have used pennies to help cure velvet. Does it really work? Are there other remedies beside copper?

Great. When I do put sick fish in do I have to take the snails out and will the medicine hurt the plants?

I wanted this to be a qt tank just in case my fish get sick, but now Im tempted to make it a planted tank with snails (they do not survive in my 55) and shrimp. Can a qt tank be planted and have decor?

I shinned a flashlight on one of my cories an saw gold patches around his gills, is it velvet. I also caught him scraping himself against my sand.

I couldnt find pfs so I use all purpose sand from home depot. Its not as clean but works fine for me.

I didnt add anything to it as I heard it makes it worse. I have well water with a ph of 7.4. Geeze im stuck with the weird tank.

No it used to be 7.4.

0 ammo, 0 nitrite, and 5 to 10 nitrates. Everything looks normal. Except for my ph which is 8.2

The more the merrier. Cories love to be in groups and show more of their personality. It also depends of the size of your tank, you dont want to over crowd.

Yeah all the other fish are acting normally, thats what worries me because this happened out of the blue, one day hes fine and one day hes not.

No ive had these fish for a month and a half.

I have 1 cory that swims funny, is twichy and is breathing heavily. I noticed this a couple days ago. He is darker then the rest of the cories and stays in 1 spot. I have read that he might have velvet. Any help is appriciated.
