Im aiming for crystal clear water. I love the pot idea its would look clean but that would cloud the water right? Even if i put sand cover on pots some dirt would escape from bottom of pot...is there anything else i can use other than dirt to pot a bunch of plants all over the tank?

There are some types of moss that can soak up some algae. Depending on the type of light try having on for different hour out of the day, experiment a lil with it. Is your tank close to a window with light comming in? If no luck i have a set up i can tell u about that has to do with loose algae...

Just set up a 29 gal with no substrate only glass on bottom. With two 20 gal filters.. Alot of anubias and alot a neons . any advise about this has anybody done this and does the water goes bad after a while..do i really need substrate for micro orgs to grow and break down waist? Im aiming for...

I boiled it like 3 times for 45 min each time. The first time the water in pot was dark then the next two times it got lighter and lighter until it was light yellow then for the next 2 nightss i let it soak in my bathtub with hot water i got tired of waiting so long so i put it in tank ...and...

Got a 20 gallon with sand and alot of driftwood ...i was told that babytears wont grow in sand and they need strong light but a month later the ones in my tank are shooting up out of the sand in a couple places ...will this last? No fertilizer or co2 but i was using special blend for a couple...

So i purchased some babytears and i just wanna know if i put it on driftwood will it spread all over the wood. ? I know how to tie it on and i have T5 lighting. Also getting fertilizer soon. How rapidly would they spread on wood? And do the roots take over all the cracks and holes in the wood?

end of the tube is above filter fiber and water exits below below the bio rings through like 30 little hole......in order from the top the water comes down throught the fiber through some carbon which is inside filter fiber then through bio rings then which exits straight down

Made my own filter with a powerhead, plastic bottle, hose, and filter fiber. It filters like an animal i also have some bio rings in bottle where the water rushes out...any suggestions? Has anybody else done this? Will the bactiria grow in clear filter with light going in?

Have a 20 gal java tank and snails are breeding in them . Will the moss be ok? I noticed some browning on some parts of moss is that from snails?
