I'm no geologist but they look like a hard rock not limestone base so I would assume they would be ok to use if they pass the vinegar test.
somethingsfishy said:Yep those are river rocks. Boil them for a few minutes or soak them to clean them and you should be good to aquascape. Just out of curiosity, are they from a garden? If so, did you use chemicals around the rocks? If so, make sure you clean them well.
