hello it has been almost a year since i have posted here however i again have questions
i am having a fence built around my back yard and i am afraid of the debris ending up in my pond i am plaining on covering the entire pond while the construction folks are actually working
so hear is...
it is a 190 gallon but from my under standing that is if you use every part of the liner to make it look good i am only using about two thirds of the liner i would say around 100 to 110
so i have decided to start with the cheap lined kit from lowes.
do i need to add some sort of additional filter. i do not want to add a canister to this set up due to the fact that there is no where that it could possibly go. so it would have to be under water.
is there anything special you should do to take fish that have been living in a fish tank inside for a few years to a outdoor pond. or is the float the bag in the water a good method for this. anyone ever kicked there fish out of the house before.

I used play sand in a ten gallon i set up to put the pest snails i pull out of my main tank that i dont have the heart to kill
And it has turned into a beautiful planted sand tank
no problems with the play sand
ok we have decided we are going to build a pond
there are basic rules for fish keeping in a tank-do the same apply to having a pond
or is there a whole different set of rules
thanks
i have talked about wanting a small planted tank i have gathered many of the pieces for this but i want to use sand as my substrate (really i have already bought it from lfs) cost was not to bad due to the fact that i only needed five pounds of it so the question is how do you put this stuff...
anything is possible how ever if you got it on your plants my guess would be that it is not. it is much likley to be mts or other common pest snail.
can you put up a pic i am sure fruitbat or tortis will identify it for you!
what kind of feeders do you have in the five gallon if you are planing on keeping them they will probably need a bigger home soon especially if they are goldfish
