I'm not a fan either. I COULD trade one bio wheel and one cartridge between the two tanks. I would essentially be trading 25% of the filter media from the 55 with over 50% of the filter media on the 29 (if that makes sense)
Leave for a 5 day vacation in 5 days. I'm having to do daily water changes to keep nitrites down after a major rebuild of my tank. Im kind of surprised as I'm using the same filter (however I did change the substrate to a better plant friendly substrate while I added fluorite).
Is there an...
Thanks! I would never ever complain with even a hint if haste to or about a janitor. I have great janitorial staff anyway! They are simply doing what they're supposed to do anyway. I mean , the floor HAS to be stripped and waxed... Thanks for piece of mind! I'll do water changes before and...
The floor of room where my 55g is will be is getting a fresh coat of wax on Monday. The first thing they do is use a wax stripper which actually hurts my eyes when I'm in the same room. Now I have very sensitive eyes and it doesn't seem to bother the guys using it. None the less, is it likely...
I just noticed this thread that was posted for me! Thanks batt! As for the answer: I realized that my DIY yeast mixture contained too much yeast and it was reacting too fast through the sugar. Once I realized that tablespoons was supposed to be teaspoons, it made all the difference in the...
Well, I lost one of my Curviceps today. I bought them together even though they are both males (I think). They hung out together in the LFS for two weeks as well as my tank for two weeks. Then I noticed one was being a bully to the other every now and again which eventually led to all the time...
I had a 20g long planted tank and quickly decided to move everything to a 29g to allow the plants to have more room to grow.
Here is what it looked like with T5 HO lights and DIY CO2. I got tired of the DIY part so I'm high pressure injecting now into my 29 gallon.
Here's my finished...
i like the licorice gourami... but do they typically just hide out all the time? i'd like to add one illusive fish to the tank now that i moved everything to a 29 gallon tank... any suggestions? i'm thinking one of these gourami's are not wise to add..
when i took the pics i didn't have the penguin hanging on yet... it was running at the time of the post... check out the new 29 gallon... what do ya think?
Welcome hog fan! Great baseball game today! I've had equal luck with neons and cardinals. I might can hook you up with some plants to start with... Don't forget the ferts and co2
I plan on moving the tank water and fish into buckets with air stones... plants into moist bags (actually first). Then move wet substrate and driftwood... Then re-plant and re-acclimate fish. I'll probably even use tank water from my established 55 gallon to top off the extra 9 gallons.
Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your replies!
I'm wanting to move everything from my 20g planted tank to a 29g so my plants will have a better place to live as well as my inhabitants!
I have some ideas on the best way to do this while disturbing the bio the least... I'm wondering what...
