you could try and use RO water unless you already are .
its hard to keep a stable ph unless you use chemicals and stuff but thats not too good for the eggs and fry .
ph for breeding discus u want really something like 6.0 -6.5 . my hardness is 3 my ph is 6.5 . and i try not to disturb them too much other then doing my daily 50% water change on there tank . feed them on beefheart and my fish mix. small amounts but 2-3 times a day and after each feeding ill...

if not put them in there own tank with a sponge filter , heater and a spawning cone and they should do great . also whats your water parameters ?

to raise discus fry artificially is no easy task . they are eating the eggs becaise they are stressed out . is there alot of activity near the discus tank where the fry and parents was ? the fry after hatching should eat the milk secretion off the parents flanks for 2-3 weeks then they should be...
If i was to use ro water instead of my treated tap water for my angelfish breeding pairs would i achieve a better hatch rate ?
tap water parameters :
ph = 8.5
gh = 16
cant remember the ppm
ro water i now have :
ph = 6.5
gh = 5
ppm = 50-100 ppm
im guessing the ro water would be...
oh yeah bob can i do water changes still while the fry are in the tank.. im thinking yes as it would be cleaner and more sanitary that way but i thought i would ask you as you have more wxperiance then me in angelfish breeding ..

ok thank guys to be honest ive only had trouble with chemicals the ph up and down doesnt work. and the proper ph does but makes your water cloudy . so ill try some of the stuff you suggested
i need to use it in my discus tank. my ph straight out the tap is 8.7 so i wanted to lower it to around 6.5 as i have a breeding pair. i put some in and after a couple hours the tank went cloudy and my water has never been cloudy.
