I was having the same problem(drop checker). I upped the bpm and everything was kosher. I'm running just over 60 bpm and am in the safe zone. From what I've seen and heard; the bpm changes from tank to tank.

Awesome! It's always good when your significant other can take part in something you enjoy. They somehow find the reasons you enjoy it, as well as create their own. Things like this bring closer together! It's looking good thus far!

I do 8 hrs, 10am - 2pm, then an hour siesta, then on again until 7. I too have natural light in the room from morning until night, but no direct light on the aquarium. I do the siesta to battle any algae growth, as algae is slower to start its photosynthesis process than plants are.
