I'm not entirely sure if this belongs here.

So, I've moved from aquascaping to the terrarium/vivarium hobby. Due to lack of time and brutal water source in my building, that had the worst KH. So bad that, no matter how much CO2 I put in the water, it wasn't binding.
I've kept a few semi aquatics in the newly "scaped" vivarium.
One plant in particular, that many of you I'm sure have, is hydrocotyle tripartita . I noticed that the water portion of the vivarium had little dust looking particulate, floating on the surface. I assume it was mold/fungi spores, as mold/fungi is very prevalent in vivariums. Mine more so, because of the humidity.
I had just noticed today, strange leaves on some of the Hydrocotyle. Turns out, they are flowers and the spores I had seen, is pollen.
I'm not sure if anyone has seen hydrocotyle flower, if not, here's a look.

What substrate do you use? Lighting?

When I started this project, I used the original flourite dark, with stratum that was in the aquarium already, as my base/wet layer. I capped that with a peat, sphagnum moss and organic soil mixture. There is weed cloth between the peat mixture and base/wet layer. So, all of the ferts and organic detritus from when it was an aquascape, remain in that layer, and soak into the peat/soil mix. Along with the MTS's...lol. I also, with an eye dropper, add seachem iron and trace around the vivarium, monthly. Focusing more around the crypts. I have a DIY humidifier, on a timer, as a fogger to keep it nice and humid. There is leaf litter as well, so it decays and adds nutrition for the plants.

I explain the substrate in the other post. as far as lighting, I'm using a 48" T8 shop light w/ Phillips 6500k daylight and an Aqueon Floramax tube, on a 12 hour cycle.
When I get a chance, I'll post a full shot of the set up.
I also use one of my Marineland C-160 Canister's, as the filter for the water portion. There is 1/4" pipe, in the base layer, that draws the water into the filter, with a trickling water over stone section, as well.

Have you thought about adding co2 to the tank now the way it is?
In the air or water as all would still be contained by tank cover.
