    Buenos Tetras and assorted rainbows

I'm going to redo my tank and will need to give up my B. Tetras and the rainbows. I have quite a few, 12 total I think, and they're 2" to 3" long. I'm willing to trade for plants or just give them up for adoption. I'm looking for any plants that doesn't grow too tall. I thought about giving them...

    worst fish experience ever :(

On the subject of jumping, does anyone knows if they(the fish) learn from this? My halfmoon betta(White Cloud) jump out of his jar while I was feeding the tank behind him. I paniced and moved everything below and found him...still alive. I lowered the water level to prevent him from jumping out...

    Getting a new ram today...[update: I think I have a problem]

Are angels that aggressive? I was planning to get some angels for my tetra tank but after hearing this, I don't think it's a good idea at all.

    Suggestions on schooling fish (fw)

I got tetras (phantoms, rummynoses, cardinals, pristellas), dwarf rainbows, albino corys, clown loaches as schooling/shoaling fish. But the only ones grouping right now are the rummynoses and the clowns shared a cave. Every other fish is just roaming w/o a care in the world in my tank. I guessed...

    Shrimp in a planted tank

IMO, crayfish with plants and fish equals bad news. They will shred your plants and eat your fish, unless the fish is big and aggressive, then they become food. This is from my personal experience with crayfish, but others have successfully kept crayfish with fish and plants.

    Anarchis

Anachris are like snails. Depending on how big your tank is, you'll have to weed out a lot in a month or so. Everytime I do my water change, I have to throw almost half of them out. They grow very fast in the right condition. I started out with one stem, pretty soon it took over half my 26gal.

    Long lived fish

Thanks whitetiger, what an informative site. I didn't know tetras can live that long. Angelfish is a good option. Do they get along with clown loaches?

    Long lived fish

Hello all, Reading most of the threads I've notice that a lot of people have kept fish that lives quite a long time. I'm looking for a show quality fish that can live for around 15-20. It would be nice to look back 20 yrs from now and read this thread and telling my friends and fish how it all...

    Pothos? Completely under water?

Very nice BrianNY. Are they spreading? I might give it another shot. Pothos is a nice ivy and I bet it would look very nice in a planted aquarium.

    Pothos? Completely under water?

Pothos is a type of ivy. It won't work if totally submerged. The leaves can't take nutrient from the water like true aquatic plants.

    house hold plants

Why don't you get a water lettuce or water hyacinth? They're no fuss plants and offer a good hiding place for shy fish. They also have nice roots and filter the water and you don't have to worry about them rotting.

    Crabs and Crayfish

I think it's a bad idea to keep crayfish with any sort of fish. A few years ago a friend of mine gave me a 3 inch crayfish and the next day my blackmoore was floating and missing it's head :? . I got so mad I introduced the crayfish to my 9inch Oscar  . I haven't' touch anything with...
