So my 29 gallon has been sitting at half stock for awhile and I was looking for help. I'm wanting to add a second school. The current stock is a small gbr and 8 harlequin rasboras. My first idea was to add a school of 6-8 cories and bump up the harlequin school to 12. Another thought was to add...
So I'm using a topfin30 filter that came with a 29 gallon kit I bought as well as a aqueon 10 filter used to provide mature media. I was going to buy an aquaclear filter but was unsure of what size to buy. Should I go with the ac30 and just run it alongside the topfin or buy the ac50 or ac70...
I'm interested in the cherry barbs but 2 small schools of tetras or rasboras would be cool too. And I have seen gouramis but my options near me are pretty much limited to dwarfs and that's about it unfortunately
The more I look into the fish I might want the less I'm sure about what I actually want. I do like angels but am not set on them. The only current fish I have is a peppered cory housed all by his lonesome in a cycled 10 gallon. Ideally I'd like a small school of cories, 1 or 2 small groups of a...
Have a water wisteria that has been in the tank for a couple of weeks now and i have noticed these thin white thread-like things growing off the stems. The threads grow along the entire height of the stem, so are they roots or something else entirely?
I noticed petsmart had a tank and hood combo for around 95, is this a good deal for a new tank? And I'm not really interested in used tanks, they jus make me nervous. What would be a good brand and size filter for a tank that size?
I'm looking to buy a 29 gallon tank and I don't know if those starter kits sold at petstores and Walmart are worth it or if it is easier and cheaper to buy the parts separately since I assume the filters and heaters are inadequate. Anyone have any input on this? I also was looking for a cheap...
Just as kind of an update, I retested the water today and found these numbers
ph=7.8
ammonia=between .25 and .5
nitrite=0
nitrate=5
As a note, I had just fed my fish approximately an hour before hand if that affects the ammonia levels any.
Yea I followed the instructions to the letter. The cories were peppered cories and the bettas were rehomed. I guess I should have mentioned the tank was divided at the time the time they were kept in there.
So I've never really done any sort of testing on my water before but I thought I should given that a had a few fish die off recently. The tank is a 10 gallon that has been up and running for approximately two months (I did not cycle the tank which I know is a big no-no). I started with two...
