Could tap water quality be the reason??

I thought of chaging the bulbs. I have not done that for a while. Thanks HN1. I don't know what is TDS (total disolved solids????) I don't have a C)2 reactor. I always thought that with only 2W/galon I didn't need one. Is this wrong? Thanks!

Could tap water quality be the reason??

Hi all! As I just posted in another forum, I'm back after a few years away from the AA.com but not from my fish! During the last few years I moved to another house, I've been travelling a lot for work and I have a granddaugther! The cutest little thing! :B-fly: But I don't have as much time...

    Posible fungal infection

Hi, I'm back after a few years away from the forum, but not away from the hobby! Mind you, several changes in my life, all good, are taking a lot of the time I used to dedicate to my fish. I've updated my profile, so you should be able to see the tanks description. Now to the issue: I...

    Sick Rasbora

Hi folks, It's been a while! I have been too busy travelling (for work!) and have been kind of neglecting my hobby. Although I have been keeping up with PWC, I have not done anything new with my tanks. Last week I found one of my brilliant rasboras, with a white spot on the head. It looks...

I think I have cyanobacteria in my tank

Thank you. Any ideas about why the fish are dieing in such a funny way?

Fish dead in a funny shape

Hi All, I just posted in the general forum asking for advice on what I think may be cyanobac. and I just wanted to post here about the unusual dead of a few fish in the last weeks. The big tank had 4 casualties, a dwarf gourami who may have been harassed to death by the twice...

I think I have cyanobacteria in my tank

Hi all, I've been working to hard ad traveling a lot in the last few months, yet always managed to keep up with my tanks cleaning and maintenance. Even in the last two weeks, when I was away for the whole time, I trained my hubby to do a pwc for me. For a few months now I've noticed some...

    Poor Dwarf Gourami!!!!

The poor thing is dying so slowly! He's been laying on the bottom of the tank or on a plant leaf for the last 3 days. I thought he was dead twice! And when I touch it he moves away from the net. He is quite pale, doesn't eat and doens't move. And to make things worse, I cannot take him...

What other fish can live with goldfish?

Oh dear! You're in trouble! Look at my "Gold Fish" post: http://www.aquariumadvice.com/viewtopic.php?t=85648&sid=bc3a214acf4ea70261862bf01f1b90bf&pc_tzo=-14400&pc_d=20060831&pc_t=41196

Ok. Got it. No goldies. Then what can I put in there? Thank you.

    Gold fish

Oops. I guess my sig needs updating. Yes it is the same but unfortunately the cray fish is in fishy heaven now. It died of very old age a few months ago. The tank is quite boring without it! I want to give it to my 10 years old goddaughter, Emy, to introduce her to the hobby. I think the...

    Feeding Frozen Bloodworms...HELP!

My guys prefer the frozen by far! I just put a cube or two in the water and let it float. It thaws pretty quickly with the help from the avid fish pulling the worms out of the cube. They all get their share. I only feed frozen bloodworms once a week right before a water change. Then I...

    Gold fish

OK, lyquidphyre. Then what options do I have other than the goldies? Remember that the minows are there and they are used to room temperature water.

    Gold fish

Hi guys, I have a 5 gal fresh water tank with a few minnows (no heater). Is it big enough for goldfish? one or two? Will the minnows be OK with the GF or will they become snacks? Other suggestions? Thank you. :D

Awesome! I'll get going right now. Thanks a lot!

    Drift wood

I'll try this method. Thank you. How do I know when is safe to put in the tank? I'd hate to have fish casualties caused by my tank aesthetic preferences!

    And then they were five...

The Angel is pretty big. I'd say a good 3 inches in diameter. The new rummys are about an inch long. I agree with rich. I think they were kind of numb from the change of environment and the angel too advantage of that. Hoppefully he wont find more numb rummys.

    Drift wood

I found a nice piece of drift wood in a lake last week when I was camping in Northern Ontario. It is too long to boil it... how can I treat it to make sure it is safe to put in my tank? Thank you!

    And then they were five...

...rummy nose tetras... I bought 6 of the little guys (they were sold in pairs) to add to the existing 5. They were QT'd for 2 weeks and all looked nice and healthy two days ago when I moved to the big tank. A few minutes after the move I go to watch them and see the distinctive black and...

    clown loach still gone

One of my 3 yo-yos is missing too. I don't know if it's hiding or if it died and the other fish ate it. There are no wholes in the tank for it to jump out...so I'm also wondering what happened to him... Good luck in your search!
