My coral beauty seem's to have fin rot. The last few day's he has been devloping hole's in his tail fin. I don't believe they are bite's form the other fish ( false perc) What could be done to help this fish what would cause this. tia

This calcium test kit, is giving me a real problem. if the directions are right, it should take about 9 drops total. To come up with a reading of 450ppm but i put in about 80 drops with no change. and i don't want to waste the whole bottle to not get a reading does anyone else use this test...

Watt's per gallon 1-2 low 3-6 moderate 6-10 high would that be a good assumtion on how the watt's per gallon rule work's. This has been bugging me just thought i'd ask.

What would be a quality relativivly cheap refractometer. The 10$ hydrometer is not pulling it's weight anymore. Especially with adding more and more coral's. I would rather pay a little more and have that peace of mind than guess with the hydrometer. And also a good RO/Di unit im looking into...

The overflow and the return pump is that what dictates the gallon's per hour. DO the baffle's slow it down or any thing. THe reason I ask is im planning a fuge and would like to keep the overflow and pum i am currently using.

would this be a good amount of fish in a 75. Blue tang, two percs, hawkfish, and coral beauty. i know the tang is gonna get big but it will take some time to get big. and i thought of just tradeing it in for a smaller one when that time came. let me know if this sounds good

just reading aabout tropical play sand as another option to ls and wondering if the sand they use for pool filters has been used its very white and very cheap and alot easier to find than the other sand has any one used it is it silica based
