That lfs lady is nutty, if you do a fish in cycle you will still have to do water changes. If you don't do water changes you'll loose fish and buy more from the lfs, they make more money in the end. Unfortunately some of the closer lfs have bad advice, and I'm in the same as you seem to be. Good...
