    Outdoor spring/summer aquarium

So I've noticed too, but I heard BN prefer it nice and hot. All the moss is doing excellent, except the willow moss. It is sort of a cold water moss so they say.. Sent per three-eyed raven..

Take it out of the pot and examine the root system ;) Sent per three-eyed raven..

    Rookie mistake

Looks good, though i fear for your foreground plant. It seems to be dwarf baby tears or monte carlo (picture is't really clear).. They need strong lighting and co2 to survive. Dwarf sag might be the way to go if this fails Sent per three-eyed raven..

    What plant is this?

Looks like an anubias coffefolia to me. Looks in bad shape indeed. If it is indeed an anubias species, then don't cover the rhizome (it's probably rotting already). Sent per three-eyed raven..

    Fresh what is this?

Nice piece of lava rock you got there! And before you know it you got dwarf sag in every nook and cranny! :) Sent per three-eyed raven..

    Outdoor spring/summer aquarium

Update time:tank has been running for a solid 20 days now, cycled material was added to speed up the process. Ammonia and nitrates are both 0. Fish have been swimming happily for the past week. Really pleased with the result...

    Outdoor spring/summer aquarium

Honestly I have no idea, but I tested it and so far it holds a fully filed up tank. Sent per three-eyed raven..

    Outdoor spring/summer aquarium

Spring has started here in Belgium, so I thought I would already get the aquarium out and get it cleaned! Last spring/summer I did the same thing with a bunch of minnows, but the were in a barrel.. They were doing fine for four months. Unfortunately I lost most of them in 2 days.. Apparently...

    How to hide a filter

That's really small to do much hiding! Could put some thin slates of rock before it and glue some moss or liveworth to it. Sent per three-eyed raven..

    How do I Snailproof?

+ snails are actually good to have in the aquarium, but I'm more concerned with the view since it was my showcase tank. Sent per three-eyed raven..

    How do I Snailproof?

I've had quite the pond snail invasion a year back, I was at my whit's end. So I introduced 3 dwarf chain loaches to my 40 gallon tank, four weeks after... not a snail to be seen! And they make a good community fish imo... But I recommend to only add a biological countermeasure when things are...

    Plants... never kept before

If you have co2-parts laying about, I would definitely say it's worth the effort.. I was always the type of guy who was sceptical about co2, until I tried it myself. Now I have co2 running on all three of my tanks and I wonder how I ever managed without it! Everything grows like crazy. When...

    Guess this plant

It's definitely a ludwigia species.. Most of them have the seem preferences.. You should be fine just researching the ludwigia species ? Sent per three-eyed raven..

    Plants... never kept before

Well there are a few plants you could tie to the driftwood for starters.. You could also try to tie/glue moss to it. Most notable easy beginner plants (which you can tie on wood) are anubias and java ferns, since they don't like their rhizomes (a type of root) buried. They come in many...

    Glutaraldehyde /Metricide 14 / Excel?

Before I had pressurized co2 in all my tanks I used to dose easy carbo (easylife) in all my tanks. Never had any issues with that, but then again I only overdosed slightly. My fish were always healthy and happy. Only my vallisneria melted every single time. To me it was a good and cheap...

    Lighting options

Hi Caliban, yes it's been a while indeed. :) I have had this rekord for three years now. All I can say is that the lighting is great to grow anubias, hygrophila and some other undemanding plants. But I want to go further this time. Secondly, it's not really the lighting fixture that's glued...

    Lighting options

Hello, I currently have an old Juwel Rekord 800. The dimensions are (81 x 36 x 45 cm)/ (36 x 17 x 16 inch). It's a small tank with roughly holds up to 110l or 30g. The thing is, it still has two 18w T8 bulbs in the hood. I've known for a long time that this is very low lighting. I finally got...

Makeshift pond, how do I make this work?

The plant with the purple flowers is commonly referred to as 'blue rain' in Belgium. I don't know it's scientific name though. I have been looking at the Gambusia, they look a great deal like female guppy's in my opinion. But I'd like something easy to spot and a bit more colorful. Hence why I...

    Coldwater 'aquarium' plants?

Hello, I recently started this thread on the coldwater/pond subforum: Makeshift pond, how do I make this work? - Aquarium Advice - Aquarium Forum Community I made a little makeshift pond outside (pics on other thread). I currently have some cabomba and a floating plant in it. Currently the...

Makeshift pond, how do I make this work?

Hello guys, so I bought a 5meter long airtube and hooked it up in my garden shack.. It runs all the way through the vegetation so I don't even see it (happy me)! I used aroud 50 liters of seeded aquarium water en then ten more liters of tap water. I also bought 3 male and 7 female guppy's in the...

Makeshift pond, how do I make this work?

Summer's in Belgium! And I'm ready for a little project, here's what I want to do (don't expect rocket science): I was digging through the garden shack and saw a big unused flower pot, like this one: https://www.repotme.com/orchid-pots/Flower-Pot-Black-10.html I figured it would be cool to...

    Attempt at moss wall

Hey guys! I was abroad for a while, but just got back! The tank is A MESS! Appareantly the timer broke down while I was away, so it has turned into one big algae bloom! I'm getting nerites, shrimp and malaysian trumpets tomorrow hoping to restore the damage. I would really like to share a photo...
