i'd also agree no discus... and not a common pleco. get something smaller like a bristlenose or something. i don't think a common pleco would be comfortable in a 28gal. he'd live there, but not comfortably, IMO.

honey gouramis would be much more comfortable in a 10 gallon than even your regular dwarf gourami. right now i have a 10gal with 2 honeys and (too many) guppies and a crayfish and it's really cool. you could also go with platies, which look kind of like mollies but stay smaller.

my half-grown angel ate an adult guppy, which is twice the size of a neon at LEAST. and, uh... what's a large neon? i've only ever seen them relatively the same size.

you can't find an adapter to fit the python on your tub tap? i thought they had one that was kinda just rubber that squished onto any flat tap, but i might be crazy and making that up. i could not imagine doing all of that with buckets. wow.
