    An uninvited guest!

Hi there - a buddy of mine has just started up a mini-reef tank and has found an uninvited guest. Presumably from his Java Live Rock. Of course, the question is - is it friendly or does it need removing post haste?

    What's up with Aquarank??

I never noticed :( Unfortunately you are not the first site to be targetted like this. Someone has been through quite a few sites (some of hwich I am a member of) and done the same. Shame on them - they should be named and shamed.

    Zebra Loach behavior?

I would think it was that they didn't have any hidey holes. Do you have plenty of rocks/caves/tubes for them to hide in?

    Neolamprologus brichardi

There doesn't seem to be any pair bonds with mine. The young juveniles do guard the younger fry though - very courageous they are too when facing off with 5 inches of N.livingstoni :)

    Neolamprologus brichardi

IME it doesn't take much to get Brichardi to breed :) I seem to have 1 male and 4 females and he keep them all with broods :D

What on earth is this? (two ID's and one question)

Might be worth looking up chordates like salps - they have a similar configuration - just never seen them in aquaria - just under a microscope :)

Could You Please Answer Some Cory Questions?

For ease of breeding I'd go for bronzes - other corys are easy to spawn but hard to rear the fry. Pygmy corys are smallest I think :)

    West African Spiny Eel

    Firemouth Cichlid tankmates?

My firemouths were relatively accommodating to any tank mates until they spawned. Then they guarded their territory - but only chased fish that didn't give them room, and not to any sort of length. I'd suggest large tetras or schooling fish like the barbs. Don't try little tetras (mine...

    starfish will they mate

Those two stars wont mate. Sounds like you do have lots of little starts (I have a few, mine are white). Mine piggy-backed in on my live rock, don't know where your's are from.

    Concave belly

I don't think so - both of my kribs have nice rounded bellies - are they eating well?

    more Synodontis questions

I have 5 young clown loaches with 2 synodontis nigriventris and they get along fine. Clowns are pretty peaceful - as are synodontis.

Huge congratulations :D Share those pics as soon as you get them :) And that poor male - he's gonna be worked over-time with 5 females :( - can you dissolve a bit of viagra for him?

More babies & cories are spawning (1st time)!!

Just remember to change the water in the little tank frequently as you don't have any filtration in it - sounds like you are on the way to a cory family :)

    more Synodontis questions

Most synodontis are ok with rift-lake cichlids, and most of them are ok with each other. If the tank is too small then the males may well squabble over territory but if you have plenty of hidey holes it should be ok. If you have spawning cichlids I'd avoid the S.mulitpunctatus, they are called...

How to keep my discus from laying eggs on filter intake

Ok - if you can't beat them, help them :) If you buy a replacement sponge for an air-driven filter and place this over the intake of your filter......... ...... then when the fry do hatch they wont get drawn into the filter intake. (In fact the fry will feed off food trapped on the sponge :))...

More babies & cories are spawning (1st time)!!

Best of luck! Mine spawned recently and of the eggs that stayed in the tank I have at least 4 surviving babies :)

    Question re Dwarf Gourami.........

They are shy species - insomuch as they like to be able to shelter in plants. Do you have hiding places in there for him?
