    FresH2O's Shrimp Tank

My red root floaters didn't make it either. Dwarf water lettuce is meh but salvinia minima is out of control.

Started breaking down the Evolve last night. B. maculatus were surprisingly easy to catch and are in a breeding net in the 16g. Ram buddy has been showing off for them: Pygmy cories went in the Endlers fry tank. I managed to net 3 females and 1 male. Color in the photo is kind of wonky, will...

It's a good idea to contact her if you're looking for something specific since her stock list isn't always up to date.

I went with her for a few reasons. I wanted the shrimp & snails but not necessarily the minimum number purchase requirement Wet Spot has. I've had great luck with the otos I bought from her in the past. And I'm really interested in seeing what her CRS and Endlers look like! I put some salvinia...

Yay, new friends! Kuhlis are my favorite fish :fish2: Never even heard of the black devil, will have to do some reading....

    55 gallon to a 12 gallon Fluval

I have a Spec 5 with stock lighting, tank is planted with dwarf sag, subwassertang, a moss ball plus floating baby tears and salvinia minima. Shrimp and snails would be fine, just keep in mind that shrimp do best when added to an established tank. You could do a nice-sized group of some sort...

    TheresaM's tank thread

Has to be at least 3 or 4 months; every other week or so I top off for evaporation but even that's a rather small amount. I feed the tank every 2-3 days. Could probably go even less often but there are a lot of fry, just want to make sure they're getting enough since the adults are pigs

    TheresaM's tank thread

It looks like I'm getting a new Spec 3. I'm so tired of all the issues with the Evolve so that will be replaced. The Spec will be another shrimp only tank, haven't decided what type yet. Really just considering a thin black sand substrate, cholla, leaf litter, and a bunch of baby tears from the...

A while ago I had a successful Walstad-based 2.5g so when I got this tank I decided to try something similar minus the dirt. I honestly can't remember the last time I did a water change in that tank :hide: The ferts were recommended by members here. I've had to do a few adjustments on amounts...

It's a 10g with basic black sand, no filter or heater. It gets indirect sunlight then I run one of those clamp on shop lights for ~4 hours in the evening. There are vals, dwarf sag, baby tears, flame moss, ludwigia, duckweed. I dose Excel, Leaf Zone, and Flourish 2-3 times a week. Stock is least...

    Shrimp advice

Anubias is great. As far as other plants it really depends on what you like and can gets your hands on. In my main shrimp tank I have dwarf sad, subwasstertang, a marimo ball plus floating baby tears and salvinia minima. It's fun to watch shrimp hanging upside down from floating plants. Lots...

Another batch of Endlers fry...as I was netting them I started thinking about the jungle tank: at this point there's definitely more plants in the tank than water. This is a partial view from above after I removed a large bowl full of duckweed: The tank was originally purchased just to store...

    Shrimp advice

Shrimp aren't particular about plants. I don't even use RO in my CRS tank. I've found it's best to check with the seller/breeder about what type of water the shrimp are kept in prior to purchase. Things like leaves, cholla wood, etc help with biofilm. Shrimp will constantly pick at it.
