13 year old and a tank

Hello, I am starting a 46 gal tank. Right now I have two small (~1 in.) plecostomuses and 3 Gold Doubloon Mollies. So my questions are:

Should i feed the plecostomuses tropical algae wafers (what im doing right now)?
Is it ok to feed the mollies goldfish flakes?
And i plan on adding an elephant nose to the tank in a couple weeks at my LFS, is it compatible with the other fish in the tank?

Also:
I have a sand substrate, what kind of fresh water plants could i add with low maintenance if any?

I wouldn't add anything more those plecos already have you overstocked. Common plecos get a foot long and have a huge bio load
