I'm retro-fitting home depot bought florescent lights to an old TV set case where I will hold a 29 gallon tank. I plan to have plenty of live plants, how much light would I need?

The above link is a good place to start.

You should shoot for 2wpg or more. So basically, 60 watts of light or more would be good on a 29.

I've never done a TV fish tank (do think they look cool though), so you might want to watch the heat build-up inside there.
