Recently I purchased a 55 gallon tank, so instead of buying a stand and and I built my own from materials I already had laying around. Therefore the cost of the hood was maybe 30 dollars at the most. I had mainly spent the most on the lights. I included LEDs for moonlights and I used a 48" ballast that I had already, saving money( always trying to save money) The stand is pretty basic and is only there to hold the tank.
