No fish, but snails and worms????
Day 8 of cycling and my ammonia is starting to disappear rather quickly. My nitrites stay >5.0 ppm and it seems as though my nitrates should be taking off any time now. They seemed steady at 20 ppm for the last 2 days, but I have to admit that I don't see much of a difference in the colors on the test panel.
Of course I haven't added any fish yet, but I have 4 snails that are approaching 1/4" in size and now...worms! Tiny 1/4" white stringy things that are still for a moment and then squiggle for a second or two. I noticed one about an inch long when I did a 50% PWC on Friday.
Should I be concerned? Please don't tell me I need to break everything down and clean already. I have to say that I'm more than ready for the cycling to be finished so I can add fish...
