It's going to be about 2 - 4 weeks but just so I know. What's the best suggestion on how to acclimate new coral with 7G of water in a 12G tank? From what I've read, it seems like the drip approach is best.??? Idk

I always wondered about that too since it takes a substantial amount of acclimation water, not leaving you with much. What to replace it with? PWC time to add new SW, or what?

i would just PWC, nice new water for your new friend! your taking water out anyway, might as well while youre there

and what do you mean 7G of water? is it not filled all the way or is it displacement from your rock and sand?

New pics and water numbers.

NO2- 0 ppm
NO3- 80 ppm
pH 8.4
NH3/4 0 ppm

My nitrate level is way too high. How much water should I take out of my 12g. I have about 7g of water?

I'd suggest a new thread titled something like, "Finished my cycle and Nitrates high now" or "water change suggestions after cycle finish". Include the information on the cycle method and the fact that it's the first water change. Might clarify the comment about only 7g of water. 0r don't even use it since the pic shows rock and one would assume there's some displacement

Will likely get no responses here. Good luck.

i would do a nice 3-4G if its your first, and those nitrates are pretty high

After the 3.5g water charge here are the numbers:
pH 8.4
NHs 0
NO2 0
NO3 20

Everything is great. I've drip affiliated my 1st cleaners a zebra astra and a bandit shrimp so far so good.

Here are the new additions. Plus 10 little hermits.

Frozen brine cubes. Cut in half. The shrimp and the brain love it.
