Activated Carbon

I've been trying to find some information on how much to use. I have a 55 gallon tank. I know some people prefer not to use it, and i normally don't use it, but my tank has become considerably smelly so i've decided to use it for this occasion. Please help!

I got the little pack for one of my filters, and I would say it uses about 2 tbls or close to that.

I have 2 filters running a Fluval U4 and the built in filter that comes with it. http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f15/starting-tank-again-advice-please-pics-119907.html You can see how the filter looks like in this picture from another thread. Ive been using just fluval biomax media most of the time with just filter pads. I bought the marine land activated carbon

just fill up a little mesh bag full and put it in there... cant put too much, just make sure it'll fit in the filter

Yeah thank you im using a mesh bag i got from petsmart.
