So i've had my tank ( 2' tall by 4' x 1.5' ) set-up for 2 years. I have 2 Angelfish at the moment with some tetras and bottom feeders. The angelfish DO NOT like turbulent or fast flowing water which was fine. However, I am currently transforming my tank into a proper planted tank. My issue is with the Bubbler. I have an airstone in the back of the tank hooked to an air pump designed for up to 80 gallons and i have a mid-line valve to control flow. Well the valve seems to only operate at full blast on or not at all.. no nice in-between. Is there some way to keep the bubbles and not the turbulance in the middle of the tank? Would finer bubbles help? Or maybe a pump designed for less gallons? A better valve?
