So i have my 55gallon community tank, been up and running over a year. For the lid its 2 separate panels with 2 front lid flaps, 2 middle clear plastic panels that sit under the 48” tank light. I have 2 sponge filters one on each end. I’m having huge amounts of algae growing on the underside of the clear plastic panels, Probably from the bubbles popping from the sponge filters. Pictures are attached. How would you recommend to stop algae from growing on the plastic? ( panels are clean only cause i just scraped it off with a old credit card)

I think you answered your won question. You'll need to stop water from splashing onto the lid if you don't want algae growing on the lid.
