Hello all,

Ive seen the subject discussed many times before but cannot find an answer relating to my situation. I went away for a week and wasnt able to get anyone to look after my tank but upon returning all water conditions and fish were fine. The issue I am having however is my tank is over run with algae, I was able to do a water change and simply wipe down the sides of the tank but on my sand substrate there is loads of patches of algae I dont know what to do with, ive attached some photos of the algae im having trouble with in the hope someone can identify it and help point me in the right direction for cleaning it up.

Thanks in advance

Sorry I should also mention the light was on a timer only giving 8 hours a day and the living room blind were closed so no direct sunlight. Thanks.
