With a barebottom tank, i feel as though a bit of algae is inevitable. Ive never had a snail in my own tank, and was wondering if they do actually aid in 'eating algae' off the glass?

They will, but I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to eat the slime coat off discus, if they can get on the discus though
