Here are my latest parameters -

Oct 18
PH (8.0) - Amm (4.0) - Nitrites (2.0) - Nitrates (40)

Oct 19
PH (8.0) - Amm (.25) - Nitrites (5.0) - Nitrates (40)
Dosed tank with 4ml of ammonia to bring ammonia level back to 4.0

Oct 20
PH (7.4) - Amm (.50) - Nitrites (5.0) - Nitrates (160)

Should I conduct a PWC and reduce back the ammonia from 4.0 ml to 2.0?

OR Keep adding ammonia to the 4.0 level?

Side note: I do have some trouble establishing the results to the API chart. I can not tell the difference in the shade of nitrite between 2.0 - 5.0, but I know I'm in deep purple color.

Same with Nitrate 40 - 80 is very difficut, depending on how the light is positioned I could read my nitrates at 160.

I've bounced around on my ph and I feel pretty confident the match today is 7.4

I have a 29 gallon, moderatly planted

I am on good ole well water and I've tested my tap water twice as follows:

Ph (7.2) - Amm (0.0) - Nitrites (0.0)

THANKS in advance, I think there are some things happening !!!!!

I say you're looking very good! I'd keep dosing ammonia to 4 and you shouldn't need a pwc if nitrites haven't been high for a ridiculously long time (weeks) and your PH is stable. Your nitrites have only been high for a couple of days and the nitrite phase is the longest of the phases; mine were 5+ for almost 3 weeks before they came down. I agree it's difficult to distinguish between the colors but you don't need an exact reading to know what's going on. Ammonia is dropping significantly, nitrites and nitrates are rising so I say you're looking good. Keep going. : D
