I'm thinking of replacing my old inadequate Sanyo camera with a Fujifilm S5000 and was just wondering if anyone was using one and what they thought of it? I'm torn between the 5000 and 7000 or if anyone has a suggestion for that price range of @$350 with good zoom and manual exposure settings...I like the old 35mm SLR's so I like to have control over aperture, shutter speed, iso etc. Thx for ne feedback.

Here are the specs for this cam...http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Fujifilm/fuji_finepixs5000.asp

I have the S7000 and as brnd said it is amazing. The best feature is the 12MP interpolated image quality. I am still no expert with it and I am sure it takes far better pictured then I have to date. To keep you within your price range the S5000 or a stretch to the S7000 is a great cam. The Canons IMO pass the Finepix but just by a hair and I have heard great things about the Nikkon as well. But for me, S7000 all the way. It feels sturdy in your hand as opposed to a lighter plastic piece and contrary to popular believe you can use additional lenses.
