Aquarium Advice FINatic
My nitrates were at 30, I also took out a bully bolivian male who was harassing the single bolivian female I have...suddenly the apisto started hiding in a corner and flashing constantly. After talking to am LFS the convinced me he has flukes. I did a large water change and medicated with bifuran.
The female ram is now the boss of the tank and chases him
After the water change nitrates are at 15...
After the first dose of bifuran...he is out and about eating again despite being chased but he will occasionally return to the corner to hide from her.
Totally have no clue what to do here...
Was it the nitrates as apistos are sensitive to higher levels? Do they flash when irritated by nitrates?
Was it the single dose of bifuran?
What should I do about the aggression of bolivian? I was thinking of trying to find another female viejita...
Any thoughts?
