I have four clutches currently cooking up in my tank. The first one seems to have dried out and i guess the babies died. I saw some snails on the outside but they just dried out??? I'm wondering if they couldn't get to the water?:banghead:

Anyway, I have three more to save. I was wondering how to keep the tank moist enough. Its a cheapo plastic tank. I don't have a heater, but the temp is usually 70 degrees F. I've resorted to duct taping the lid, but I have endlers in there that need to eat! The lighting is LED, but I've moved a hotter light over the tank to help.

Any ideas?

There are three ways you can usually do this. First is the hardest. You can splash them with tank water every day. Two you can take them out and put them onto a damp paper towel into a small plastic food container. Then punch some holes on the top. You can let this float in your aquarium. it should keep humid very well under a warm light. The best way I like to do is take an air stone. Place it in the water directly under the sacks. Then turn it on full blast. When the bubbles come up they will pop on the surface causing moister to hit the egg clutch. this is the most effective way I have found.

I've made sure my lid is tight and have been using a hotter lamp. the condensation is pretty instense now, especiialy on the side where the clutches are located. i basically had two clutches dry out but some babies have survived. I also have a mysterious outbreak of bladder/or pond snails in my tank now... wtf.
thanks for the adivce.
can the clutches be too wet?
