It was fine a few days ago but now its creating less bubbles and the sound of the pump is getting louder. anyway i can restore it? It was expensive

I believe reading about a soak in vinegar to clean it out. I know that's one way to clean air stones.

Clean the filter if it has one and check the check valves if you are using them.Tetra and most higher end brands can be rebuilt.Big Al's has the parts for the Tetras and maybe some others.

Where can I find this filter? Is it the cotton thing on the bottom?

Goldfish ftw!!!

It's a 60-100 gal tetra pump. I checked the cotton filter and there were some black stuff on it. Other than that taking it out doesn't seem to make it any better

Before you take anything apart, check the air stone for restriction. When noise increases, it is often due to increased resistance to flow.
