are HO lights necessary for UNplanted 90 G

Looking at getting a light system for my 90 G (perhaps a Coralife system) my question is are the HO upgrades worth the extra money if i dont have plants?

You don't need any lights if you don't have plants, corals, or anything else photosynthetic.

I should have stated these are purely asthetic i just wanted to know if standard T5 lights would adequately light the bottom of my 90

Standard T5 lights will be plenty to illuminate your tank.
