is there a paint i can use on my SW tank or should i use the old plastic sheets? if so whats the paint called? and how do i apply it?

You can use just regular paint and paint it on, you can use spray paint and spray it on, you can get the adhesive backgrounds and tape them on. All up to you. :) There is another thread hanging around here about painting the back of the tank. I'll go look for it real quick.

Edit:

Here it is:

Btw, good to see another local person. Stop by the regional forum if you want and join up. I'm just about 20-30 minutes or so from Smithsburg. :)

I would use spray paint. I bought a can from Wal-Mart for like $5. I believe it is labeled Acrylic Fusion? I put on three coats but I could have definitely stopped after the second coat. The stuff dries fast too. Just make sure you tape off the whole tank and have it layed on its side when you paint it.
