I have a 20g long planted with 3 adult and 10 one inch baby Swordtails. I am re-homing the Swordtails and replacing with a breeding pair of Kribensis.

I plan to rehome next Tuesday, rearrange tank and on Wednesday or Thursday, receive the Kribensis.

Do I need to dose with some Ammonia to keep bacteria alive and well if I leave the tank empty except for 30 MTS if the tank is empty for a couple of days?

Agreed. You should be fine for a day or two. Still a good idea to monitor ammonia and nitrite first few days at least, if not the first week.

Agreed. Both my tanks have been up and running since April and still I test every 3rd day.
