I have a Banjo Catfish, which was always dormant during the day as usual. I read recently that it is good to add a little salt to freshwater aquarium. So two days ago I added 2 tbs of salt to my 10 gallon tank. Since then my Catfish is active during the day! She doesn't look stressed, she eats and swims normal but active at a time she was used to lay around. Did I do anything wrong?

I wouldn't add salt to the tank unless you have a brackish tank. I would do a water change just in case.

The theory behind salt is that it neutralizes the effects of nitrates in the water, but it is actually harmful to some fish. The salt doesn't do anything that a diligent water change schedule will do.
