Before Coraline Algae forms

I read somewhere that before Coraline algae comes it first is lime green.

Is this true?

Not necessarily. It comes in all different colors, although the purples you're probably referring to often will start off green in color.

Ya I wanted to know because Im getting a lot of purple dots, but more lime green covered my rocks. I wanted to know if the lime green will become purple eventually.

As long as the conditions remain good then they should become purple and spread. Most of the coraline I have in my tanks started out as the lime green color you are talking about.
