Hello everyone, just want to know how to cure fin rot on my betta I asked the people at my local pet store where I got the betta and they don't know. I've read that people use aquarium salt but I need steps idk how often to use it. Thank you

I have a 3 gallon tank with no other fish, I've had him for 3 days now

That might have caused the fin rot because of water conditions. How to treat it I'm not quite surw.

Well he had fin rot at the pet shop when I bought him

From what i believe keeping the water as clean as possible is crucial, daily water changes will ensure this and will help him recover.

I must ask, why buy a fish with fin rot?

Looked sad and sick the pet store didn't look like they cared so I bought him

Clean water will help him. How bad is the fin rot?

It doesn't look to severe but it isn't a light case of fin rot either. I've been changing his water and treating it with aquarium salt

I think you'll need to ask someone who has experinced betta fin rot. I haven't.

It's not always about picking out the prettiest fish. A lot of my fish are rescues. Meaning I bought them because they needed help. Not because they were attractive. Depends how you look at it.

Melafix by API will help. Do daily water changes and it should heal up.
