Betta questions

I just got my 1st betta ever, and just put her in her tank some fake grass on the bottom. But she's not moving much, just sitting on the grass. When she does move, she tries to get under the grass. Is this normal? Would a heater help? Also, i found she has a torn fin(not bad) but is melafix ok to use with betta's

Yes, they need a heater for the water to be at least 78 degrees. Also, what size tank do you have her in, and is it cycled?

Its not cycled, but i do have a heater bulb in. I have her in a 1-2 gallon glass bowl. Im going to do some rearranging soon, and get her in a 10 gal

Also, can i use melafix on her torn fin?
