and today I noticed Willy laying on his heater. He stayed there for at least 30 minutes. It's at 80 f :)

yeah bettas LOVE very warm water - i kept mine at 80 too
- if you have a 5 gallon tank or larger, it strongly recommended you get a heater.
 
soon i will have a million 5 gallon tanks all with lone male bettas and a few with maybe 3 females... if i ever get the hang of this breeding stuff.
 
Cute...just looks like he's taking a nap! If he was sick and wanted more warmth, he'd realize that the other end is the warm end.

My bettas loved to rest on the top suction cup on the heater. I used to have a Visitherm Deluxe glass heater. I changed to the Visitherm Stealth plastic heater. Those suction cups aren't designed quite like the Deluxe ones. My betta couldn't figure out how to rest on them. Wow, was he mad! :lol:
