I have a 55 gallon aquarium that has been established for over 3 years. It includes 2 blue gourami, some gold barbs, several species of loaches and a few congo tetras. The aquarium has been stable with its current inhabitants for a year. I've been somewhat neglectful of the aquarium lately - meaning I haven't really paid close attention to the fish. I've been incredibly busy with graduate school. I have kept up on water changes, feedings, etc. however, I just haven't really spent much time observing my fish. My ammonia levels and nitrite are always 0, with my nitrate usually in the low range (<5ppm) (it's a planted aquarium, with many plants). Anyway, all of the fish are healthy and happy, except my two gouramis. The one appears to be blind - it has white patches over its eyes (like, you can see black, but in the centers it's white....) and their scales both look like they're coming off in spots. I've had these fish for almost 2 years. I wish I had a picture but my camera is broken. It's not ick, and like I said, none of my fish seem affected at all. I just find it odd that only my gouramis look so awful... I'm in the process of setting up a quarantine tank, unfortunately all I've got is a 10 gallon, and they honestly do not look good right now. I just don't know what it could be that would ONLY be affecting gouramis...
