I've just fitted a blue LED lighting strip which is on for an hour before the main lights and 2 hours after main lights out. The fish seem to like it, they come out more in the blue evening light and we like the effect.

My question is ..... Do blue lights have any adverse affect on the growth of algae. I've not had them long and so obviously have seen no change but I would like anyone's experience, positive or negative, of having this 'Blue Moon' period.
Cheers.
Ps. The camera makes it look a lot brighter than in reality.

you wont get algae from it. that blue of a light is probably 420nm and this is color just doesnt cause algae to grow. if you had red led lights this would be a different story.
