What would a animal skull do in a fish tank. Would just act like rock?

i dont think so, bone has alot of calcium in it and heavy metals like iron, which would leach into the tank over time, so i would not recommend it

Good question. If it's cleaned out(brains, meat, hide and ect) I would assume it would be ok. Just like any decor though, make sure fish don't get stuck in it.

Depends on the animal but it will probably act more like calcium carbonate there is a part of the Chicago river that still bubbles today from all the bones the slater houses dumped back in the 1930s

Ive had the skull since the post and everything is running smoothly!
